Mary O’Donnell is a Wexford-based figurative painter and sculptor.
Her inspiration comes from her surroundings (local villages, beaches, the woods) where she can often be spotted observing people and other creatures too. She removes these characters from their context and used them as an impression for developing ideas for her work. Today she specialises in figurative painting forming characters with an ‘otherworldly’ feel.
Exhibitions
Mary has exhibited at the Royal Irish Academy, the Pepper Canister Christmas Exhibition, Green Acres Gallery in Wexford Opera Festival and had a solo show at the Kilkenny Arts Festival. For full list please see box at the bottom of the page.
